Volvo Cars is the only car maker to have its entire 2021 lineup awarded the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick+ award. The IIHS recognized the Volvo XC40 Recharge with its Top Safety Pick+ award just this past month. In addition to it being the last 2021 Volvo model to be tested, it's also the first all-electric small SUV to receive this award, proving Volvo's dedication to safety.

In order to win a Top Safety Pick+ award, the vehicle must get good ratings on six different crashworthiness tests. It must also have advanced or superior vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian crash prevention available, and acceptable or good headlights standard.

It's easy to see where Volvo's reputation for safety comes from with such achievements. Volvo continues to innovate safety technology with the hope that having every model win a Top Safety Pick+ award will become a yearly occurrence.
